Dear All,

I read in a Swedish newspaper (www.expressen.se) that a player from Steaua Bukarest is in discussions with a Swedish team named Assyriska FF (www.assyria.se (http://www.assyria.se)). Do anyone from this forum know anything about it? If yes, what is the name, position, age, good or bad?? etc...

Something very interesting regarding Assyriska FF is that the new trainer is:
José Morais, friend to Chelsea´s trainer José Mourinho. According to media some players from Chelsea can may play in Assyriska...??? If its true we dont know...

But anyhow most interesting is if anyone knows about a transfer or discussions between Assyriska FF and Steaua Bukarest???

Kind regards,

Ninos (from Stockholm, Sweden)

Dear Ninos

To be honest with you I have never heard of your favourite team.

No offence, but the player in discussion might be one from Steaua Under 21 or even Under 19.

there are juat a few romanian players playing in Sweden and to be honest, we don't even know who they are. Sweden isn't a desired destination for romanian players, so I'm surprised at this news...

If you could translate the news and put it here, we coul tell you more.

Thanks for all reply´s,

In the mentioned newspaper from Sweden they write following:
Link: http://expressen.se/index.jsp?a=225172

Will translate from the last line:

And one unknown Top-Player from the great Romanian team Steaua Bukarest...

The thing is the newspaper do not write anything about the source... That was reason it made me a bit confused...hmmm
Anyhow i will follow this Thread if you have any news so pls inform me and i will do the same...

Anyhow if anyone is interesting to know what team Assyriska FF is and what kind of history the team has pls check this page in English: http://football.guardian.co.uk/breakingnews/feedstory/0,14546,-4705846,00.html

Just briefly the team was founded 30 years ago by Assyrians (Christian Orthodox) and has reached the highest division in Sweden and also managed to qualify to the Final in Swedish Cup in 2003 (lost it with 2-0...)

Kind regards from Stockholm,

Hi mates,

Ok will do it once again, the source to this information was found in a Swedish daily newpaper, here you can find the text and the link (in swedish): http://expressen.se/index.jsp?a=225172

Some information about Assyriska FF:

The team was found by some Assyrian immegrants in Sweden (Sodertalje) this was during 1974. During their first year in Division 7 or 8 dont remember Assyriska scored 11 goals and the oppenents scored 101 goal on Assyriska funny sometimes :-) ...

After 1975 they started to take the football more in organised process and with years they climed up to the 2nd Division in beginning of 1990.

Year 1999 Assyriska FF played a play off to 1st Division (Allsvenskan) against a team named Orebro SK but unfortunately they lost in additional time...

Year 2003 Assyriska wrote history again in Sweden... In the Swedish Cup they played
against:
Orebro SK(1st Div) - Assyriska(2nd div) 2-3
Assyriska - IFK Gothenburg(1st Div) 4-1
Djurgarden IF(1st Div) - Assyriska 0-4
Elfsborg(1st Div) - Assyriska 2-0 ---> Final <---

During year 2004 7th of November Assyriska made it again to the play off for 1st Division and this time the played against Orgryte IS... In the first game Assyriska won with 2-1 and the game was broadcast in Satelite Tv over 80 Countries. But as we are used to loose in play offs we lost the last play off with 1-0... And Orgryte scored in 92nd min after that the time was out in 94th min... Dont Ask what pain we supporters suffered... We had supporters (Assyrians) from all over the Europe in the last game...

Day after God gaved us a sign 8th Of November... The Swedish Football Association informed not to accept the 1st Division team Orebro SK license for 2005 in 1st Division (Allsvenskan) this due to bad finance and to big bad debts... So, Assyriska was the team who got the ticket up...

As Assyriska is a small immegrant club we do not get same finance sponsors as the Swedish teams... I think last time i saw any finance numbers the club has a yearly budget on approx. 1,5-2 Milion Euros... So, of course in 1st Division they must have something around 3-4 milion Euros.
Just for your information a team like IFK Gothenburg has a yearly budget on 5-7 milion Euros...

Hope above gives some information about Assyriska FF...

Kind regards,

Ninos

Hey Ninos
It seems hard to belive that a player from our club is going to sign for your club, because Swedish and Romanian football are like two worlds that have rarely come into contact... and almost no contact since World Cup 94 in the USA. The chances of one of our top players signing with your club is remote since we have a bigger budget... Maybe somenone the boss doens't want to keep anymore, that's what the other guys on the forum are thinking.
We haven't heard anything about this in the Sports Press, so it seems VERY unlikely

I agree with you. I am in same track as you why should a player from your team join Assyriska? When i saw this in the newspaper i got shocked first, thats the reason i searched for more facts.

Assyriska such as team would not be able to finance a player with high demands. Only thing i can belive would be if any player from Steaua would come as a loan if this player do not get enough with play time...

But of course if Assyriska would get a player from your team i would be very very happy... This player would most probably be a star in our team...

Just also to inform that Assyriska is not a traditional Swedish team we have more none swedish players than swedish players.. They are from Serbia, Africa, Assyrians, Greece etc...

Cannot answer directly how much each player gets but in general i think salary´s are around 0-7000 Euros/month and also free apartment etc...

The best paid player in Sweden has around 10-12000 Euros/month...

As you may know since earlier Sweden is a country full of Taxes and it is very expencive for clubs to pay high salary´s...

A lot of Romanians play Hattrick. Or so I've heard. :p
Btw just how big are taxes in Sweden. How much money would a player that makes 100.000 euros/year actually get in his pocket? 60.000, 50.000 euros?
Cause over here we have a new taxation law and everybody is deducted 16% from his wage.

Hey, Ninos! R u sure that they didn't write that just to get a few extra newspapers sold? There are only a few players available for transfer at Steaua and I don't think they would be going to Sweden. The only players that I can think of are Cristian Ciocoiu (a 29 year old striker who has rarely played so far this season) and N'gassam Nana Falemi (a 30 or 31 year old defensive midfielder, born in Romania but with a few international matches played for Cameroon; he also has rarely played this season).
Other then this I don't think any player from Steaua would consider going to Sweden).

For example if you would pay 6 mil. for Mirel Radoi and the club would accept (wich I doubt because we need him when we play against Valencia) I don't think he would even consider going to Sweden. The other players are worth anything from a few hundred thousand euros to 2-2,5 mil.

Giuseppe

Valeriu Rachita has an offer from Litex in Bulgaria. He is old, 34 or 35 and I don't think he would go as far as Sweden and on the other hand he has played before in Bulgaria for Litex.

In Sweden it is different...

Example: If you get 100.000 Euros/Year
- The Club has to play social costs etc which is another 33%
- As a player you will pay around 45% in taxes

But lowest tax you pay is around 30% and more salary you get more taxes need to be paid.

For a club which has a player with 100.000 Euros they have to pay approx: 30.000 Euros in social costs... With other words the player will cost approx:130.000 Euros/Year...

So, out of 100.000 Euros a player would get 50-60.000 Euros in his pocket...

In Sweden if we would have 16% in taxes.... We would dance... But of course our hospitals are more or less for free and the same with schools etc. Also the goverment is helping people... If someone do not get a job or eduction this person can apply for support and will most probably get money from the goverment...

Giuseppe
4th January 2005, 20:53
You get money just like that from the guv.? Jesus!
Over here you're lucky if you make 3-4000 euros per year. Of course prices are a LOT lower here (unfortunatelly this is going to change when we get in the EU in 2007) and it's not bad. I for one have nothing to complain about.
Over here the bulk of the taxes is taken out of the profit made by various, smaller or larger companies. Also there are a lot of taxes on various products + there are the bills you pay for utilities. So even if 16% sounds like very little a lot of money is paid elsewere.

mansiz26
4th January 2005, 22:01

Here also hospitals are "for free", but you need to have medical insurance which costs. And yes, prices are low, but so is the living level...

Hi mates,

I have now got a feedback from the newspaper and the journalist/author who wrote the news regarding a player from Steaue Bukarest to Assyriska...

Here is the reply in Swedish and below i will translate to English:

Hej!

English version:

Hello!

Of course I cannot inform whom our sources are, only thing that the information is very truth and belivable. And also Steaue Bukarest is not that great and big european team as it was in former times, and it is not impossible that Assyriska really get a player from there. Discussions are in place and we can only wait and see what will happened and if any contract will be signed or not.

Good Luck in Allsvenskan (1st Div in Sweden)

/ Pär Andersson, Expressen

This is the latest information i have for the moment... Soon as i have a name on a player i will let you know.

Kind regards,

Ninos

Things goes really fast here... According to the Silly Season information at Assyriska FF supporter page following information is given:

In Swedish / English below:

Nana Falemi, mittfältare. Enligt gårdagens Expressen ska Assyriska vara nära att värva en spelare ifrån Steaua Bukarest. Den spelaren är troligen Falemi som enligt en anonym Steaua supporter är den enda som eventuellt lämnar klubben.

English version:

Nana Falemi, midfielder. According to Expressen will Assyriska be very close to transfer one player from Steaua Bukarest. It would most probably be the player Falemi according to a anonymous Steaua supporter, and Falemi is the only whom can may leave the club.

Really interesting if Falemi comes to Assyriska... Can some inform a bit about this player... Assyriska needs a strong midfielder and if Falemi is a strong one???

Kind regards,

Falemi used to be a quite good player. He even played for the Cameroun national team for few times in the past.

dargo
5th January 2005, 12:59
As you can see at the beginning of the topic, Falemi is the first player we also thought of. He can play defender or defensive midfielder. He's born in Romania but his father is from Cameroon and he played in the Cameroon natinonal team as defender a few times, like in the confederations cup.
One or two years ago, he played regularly in midfield for Steaua, and he was a constant good player.
He is tall (good heading) but speed isn't one of his qualities. Still, he can be the strong midfielder that you're searching.

Ninos: The most important thing, as far as I know, is that your team can have Falemi without paying any transfer fee.

aris-din-zalau

Giuseppe
5th January 2005, 16:47
I don't care much about this transfer. Falemi may be a gain for you, but he is not a loss for us. He has rarely played this season and he is pretty out of form. Good luck to him in Sweden (if the news is true). As a person he's OK, but as a player I never thought much of him.
Anyway as he is free (in fact I doubt that you can say that he is from Steaua, because as far as I know his contract has expired at the end of last year) I see no reason for him not to go to Sweden.

Giuseppe
5th January 2005, 16:55
Well, of course, if he hasn't played lately for us it doesn't mean that he is not good enought to play at your team. I don't mean to sound like I'm boasting but if you ask me pretty much any player from Steaua would have no problem at playing for your club. (Steaua has 12 players with international matches for Romania + Khamutovsky who regularly plays for Belarus.)
As it has already been stated N'Gassam Nana Falemi has played for Cameroon, but only a few matches and that was about 2 or 3 years ago.
