Hello all,
I just wanted to start a thread on your new player. Hopefully those of you who are close to the team can provide regular updates, opinions and press or media information on Ricardo.
Our bolivian media is not very good at providing up-to-date information on our players abroad.
Does anyone know when Pedriel will see any playing time?
Thanks in advance.:steag_steaua_ro:

Pedriel was not called to the Bolivian team for the qualifiers against Ecuador and Brazil. He is a very good goalie area striker, unusually tall for a south american player and with excellent header skills. A large percentage of his goals come from high ball crosses into the area, followed by a header into the net.
His first appearance with the national team was against Paraguay about a month ago, and he scored a goal exactly like that.
He is very young. Some people in Bolivia say he is actually younger than his papers say. He comes from the same region I am from: Beni.
I wish the best luck to him. I really think he made a great move to Steaua. I understand Steaua is more into getting yound players and taking the time to develop them the right way. We have another player his age who just got traded to Shakhtar in the Ucraine, purely for the money. He had other offers in Spain and England, and Shakhtar has seen a lot of otherwise promising players go by the wayside.
Keep me posted!

For me is too skinny..:)) How much we should praise his goals scored in the bolivian championship? We have doubts over his football quality, because of the low quality of your championship.

Can someone summarize this article? I don't read or write Romanian, but it looks like he did not do too bad in practice? Am I reading this correctly?

Yes, he is skinny. But so is Peter Crouch as another successful example of a thin striker.
What Pedriel did or did not do here in Bolivia is irrelevant at this point. What counts is what he can do for you and Steaua. Bolivia's professional football league is not at the top in South America, but not at the bottom either (similar to your league in Europe). And remember that even the worst league here is better than many other leagues in other parts of the world, except for Europe.
By the way, Pedriel is not playing for our national team this Saturday and next Wednesday. It is official.
I hope he does well. I am a new Steaua fan...I am even trying to get a jersey, but that is proving to be somewhat difficult!

Welcome back!If you want to buy a jersey, you should try our online store. http://magazin.steauafc.com/ro/lei/ But I dont know if they can ship the product to Bolivia. Talk with Ricardito, maybe he will bring you the t-shirt when he comes back to Bolivia!:))
Honestly, most of Steaua fans were suprised by fact that Ricardo was not in the squad for Champions League.:wallbash: I would say that the official were not honest(so I dont use other bad-word) when they sign him..they said he will play in the Champions League.
Best regards!

Hi again!
Do you know if Pedriel will play in the Champions League? There are conflicting reports around here that he will may or may not. One report on a blog states that there is a new coach or team owner at Steaua and he is not including Pedriel on the roster.
Also, will he finally see some play in your league this weekend?
By the way, I saw the Colombia-Uruguay game and your player Dayro Moreno came in late on the second half but he clould not help reverse the 0-1 loss at home.

there is no new coach or owner ... the coach said that Pedriel was brought at the club too late, so he will not play in the Champions League this year

Pedriel is young and skilled. But playing in Europe is kind of like another sport. Al the players bought from South America , are first trained a little. We made the mistake to pt in the field another players like yours and they injured in the first training session . South America's players are technical but this is not enough in Europe and I am not talking only of the big clubs.
Pedriel is a good player but he needs more time to addapt and a lot of work for his stregth. There are 2 weeks since he camed to Romania and at the end of this week he will be ready for an hour. In all European leagues a player run in a game about 10km at least if they play all the 90 minutes and this means dashes , and we were not ready to risk his injury untill the medical staff and the coach were sure that he was ready for 90 minutes.

That makes complete sense, which is why in a previous post I mentioned that Pedriel made a good move to join Steaua over other teams. He is definitely skilled and young...give him more training time and better muscle mass, and he will pay off in the long run. I understand he is currently on a program to gain weight and strength.
This is exactly what the Argentinians and Brazilians do. They understand the physical level of Europe's football and develop their players accordingly. This is why the are so much successful than the rest of south american countries and Mexico.
Please continue to keep me posted from time to time. Thanks!:fular_steaua2:

He already put 2 kilos on his muscular weight and this is a lot for a football player . I do not know what were the training conditions in Bolivia but a muscular burst like this means that he was not well prepaired and feed there and that means good doctors and nutritionists that watch him carrefully all the time and study him like a rat in a lab to make him reach the fully phisical potential:D Anyway strength is required when u have to fight head to head with defenders over 1.80 meters and 80-90 kilos and also a lot of stamina is required cose strikers have to run to put pressure all the time on the other team's defense. This ar the requirements of being able to sustain the rithm 90 minutes and not injuring yourself .
The rest is up to him and his natural skills that our technical staff saw in him.
But as the press said our technical staff is pleased with his qualities, and we wait to see him plaing for us soon , maybe in the next Sunday in championship.
As the matter of playing in CL , we bought him too late and the list of players was sent to UEFA but he can play in Europe in the spring . He will play a lot of games in championship and Romanian Cup and i think for your national team so he will be busy and this 4-5 mounths until spring will pass quiqly. He will be our player for another 5 years and he will have a lot of time t make himself a name. Is only up to him. I hope money and faime will not change him, cose Steaua is the greatest name in Eastern Europe and the ppress will have the eye on him all the time. But as i said is his problem and is what he wants from life. Players like Toja or Dayro Moreno became fully professional players here and they were problem kids and i hope that a good kid like Pedriel will follow the same path.

Just wondering if there are any news on Ricardo. Has he seen any action in your local league?
There is no news of him here. Thanks in advance!

There is a small problem with Pedriel's green card...The Bolivian Football Federation hasn't send it yet...Our Newspapers say that the Romanian Football Federation has given an ultimatum to your country's Federation...anyway,we hope we'll see Pedriel very soon, because most of our strikers have serious problems in scoring goals.

I do not know what happened. Our Federation said that is a problem at your federation with the green card. Anyway , our club talked to our federation and presented the documents (our federation said that all the documents are alright , the money are sent and the contract signed), and our federation is going to UEFA where it should be decided in a few days if Pedriel is allowed to play or not. I think the decision is 99,99 % for our club . The only problem shoul be the banking sistem but i do not think that it takes 3 weekes for the money to be there. I think the problem is in Bolivia .
Anyway. Pedriel is ready to play and we wait him on the pitch. We score a lot of goals with the middlefielders cose we do not have a real striker but if Pedriel is as good as they say he is , we should score more. We won the last 2 games with 4-0 and 4-1 cose we have some fantastic midllefield players but with a good striker we shoud've score more. Our strikers are big but slow. One is verry technical and the other is good with the head. But they lack speed and explosion. We have this problem for years and yet we didn't find a good striker yet. We are a good team with a verry strong defense with good middlefield players . The only things we need are a good striker and a good coordinator. Anyway u can watch Steaua on www.cool-tv.net on Antena 1 friday or www.rai-tv.info on Antena 1 at 20.30 our local hour (i do not know what is the hour in Bolivia). U have to install sopcast plugin and Tv-U View Net plugin.
Is the derby between Steaua and CFR Cluj the last year vice champion and champion of Romania, both team in Champions League. It should be a good game and : Forza Steaua!!
U can also stay on www.livescorehunter.com and find where and when the game will be online and what software to u need to see it.

Thanks for the updates, gents.
What is odd is that there is absolutely nothing being said by the bolivian press and media on this subject. They were first covering Pedriel's tranfer almost every day and now there is not a single article.
Moreover, the national team coach did not call him again for the qualifier matches agaisnt Peru and Uruguay the in early October. I hope the issue with his player pass can be resolved quickly...I got a feeling he will be a good addition to your team when he finally gets to play a match.
Thanks for the TV links, also. I will be watching Steaua on a regular basis. Maybe I am officially the first bolivian fan of Steaua?
Cheers.

I understand he played on his first official game this week. Can someone who saw the game please give me an assessment of how he did?
My guess is that he was probably a bit nervous and not sharp.
Also, is the a live feed that provides the games on a regular basis? I would like to familiarize myself with the entire team, not just Pedriel, Zapata or Moreno.
Thanks in advance!:soccer_h4h:

Of course he didn't look very sharp , but he didn't look out of place either . He tried to make some plays , but many players took the night-off and he wasn't able to showcase his talents playing an individual game . He had two headers , one of them real dangerous and those were individual efforts so a clear picture of his game , potential and abilities we will have in a couple of weeks probably (when he starts playing on a regular basis and with the 1st team)

In our tradition, I expect him to get injured before the start or the second half of the season. A mysterious death wouldn't surprise me.
